Stress, Sleep, and a Stubborn Stye
This patient came to me after dealing with a stye that just wouldn’t go away for two months. She thought it might be from her eyelash extensions — but I’ve seen this exact pattern again and again, and I knew right away:
This wasn’t about bacteria. And it wasn’t about eyelashes.
I asked about stress. She hesitated, then admitted: her stress had been sky-high. She was juggling school and work, barely sleeping, and finals had just wrapped up. That’s when the stye showed up — and it refused to go away.
When the Immune System Tips Out of Balance
This is classic. High stress, disrupted sleep, and emotional and physical burnout throw the immune system out of balance. The oil glands clog, inflammation builds — and no amount of warm compresses will fix it.
She had already tried: Antibiotic ointment, Oral antibiotics, and Steroid-antibiotic combination eye drops.
None of it worked.
The Shot That Changes Everything
In the video below, I’m performing a steroid injection — a fast, focused treatment that works in over 90% of cases. Nearly all of my patients request this treatment. For most people, it means avoiding surgery altogether. And while a few patients prefer surgery, I almost always steer them away. The shot is enough.

In her case, the stye improved about 80–90% after the first injection. Her stress levels were much lower, and she was finally sleeping again. She requested a second injection to help with the residual redness — and after that, she didn’t need to come back. The stye was gone.
Every Stye Tells a Story
This one wasn’t about bacteria. It was about stress.
If you’re in the same situation, you’re not alone.
You have options.
